How I started . . .

Featured on my this site is scratch board artwork.  I have included both black & white and colored.  As each picture is started, I feel the same excitement as I did as a very young age student. Each stroke of the pen pulled off a layer of ink exposing what lay beneath (which usually was many vibrant colors at that age).  I felt like it was a present I was opening and slowly peeling off the wrapping paper.  As a college art student I once again picked up the scratchboard medium and felt the same excitement it had made me feel as a young child.  This time I was enamored by the variety of strokes and techniques I was able to use conveying the strength and smoothness of metal on an airplane to the soft and fuzzy down of a new born puppy. I was hooked.  I hope, as you venture thru this site, you feel some of the same thrill I felt as the ink was scratched away and the present was unfolded.
