My name is Janet Funk.
I am a visual artist specializing
in Scratch board and Acrylic portraits.
My goal is to create special pictures
that are unique and beautiful
and will last a lifetime.

My scratch board artwork is black & white and if requested, color can be added. I believe that an artwork can capture so much more personality and emotion than a snapshot. With attention to each detail, I can make your picture very personal and a piece you'll treasure a lifetime.

About Janet Funk

Janet grew up in Central Colorado where she was exposed to many beautiful scenes, from the rugged mountains, colorful sunsets and snowy hills as well as wildlife, deer, mountain lions and eagles.  

Art had always been a big part of her life, she began taking art lessons during the summer at the Fine Art Center while still in elementary school. She loved using many different mediums and drawing everything around her.  By the time she was in high school, she knew she wanted to share her artwork with others. She decided to become a commercial artist and began taking classes at a local college. After working for several years, she soon found she preferred fine art to advertising.  She returned to school and received my Bachelors in Business Administration which she has found helps with running her own business as an artist. 

Janet and her husband Mike met in Spokane, Washington, then off to Kansas and eventually Oklahoma.  (Military and airplane industry families move often.) They have two children who share her love of art. Many times they have offered their ideas of subjects or names of the artwork that is for the church, Ducks Unlimited, or an Eagle Scout ceremony. 

They are now living outside Oklahoma City in a wooded, rural area. Although they aren’t in the foothills of the Rockies, the wildlife is abundant, always giving her new subjects to draw.
